Our Aboriginal Advocate provides a flexible, responsive advocacy service to assist you when making a complaint about your family and community’s health services. We can help you by talking through your complaint, contacting the service to try and resolve the problem, helping you to write a complaint letter or attending an appointment. We work with you to find out what you need to have your issues addressed.
We work in partnership with health services in consumer evaluation of their service and to identify any barriers that if addressed can improve access and service delivery to Aboriginal consumers. In particular we are partnering with the Aboriginal Health Council of WA to advocate for a better patient journey for Aboriginal people travelling to Perth for health care.
We also deliver training in Advocacy; Consumer Engagement; and Complaints Management for service providers and consumers in WA.
We are based in Perth but offer a statewide phone service. We regularly travel around the state when funding permits. If you would like to know more please contact Tania Harris on 9221 3422 or firstname.lastname@example.org
