Consumer advisory group – Healthy Weight Action Plan

Seeking Expressions of Interest for a Consumer and Community Advisory Group from key groups

Health Consumers’ Council is working with the Department of Health and the WA Primary Health Alliance to support the implementation of the WA Healthy Weight Action Plan. We are seeking people to express interest in being part of a consumer and community advisory group on this topic.

We have already received expressions of interest from a number of people and now we are keen to encourage expressions of interest from people living regionally, children/young people and families, and Aboriginal people as we know people with different experiences are impacted in different ways. If this is you and you’re interested in being part of this, see below for more details.

This Advisory group will provide a consumer perspective on a range of activities related to the implementation of the Healthy Weight Action Plan. For more information, see the EOI attachment below.

Initially, the group will focus on the creation of guidelines for involving consumers and community members in the planning, design, delivery, measurement and evaluation of systems and services relating to overweight and obesity.

As health services work to develop plans and activities to implement the Action Plan, the group will explore opportunities for consumers and community to be involved in local activities, and advise on areas of interest alongside feedback already collected from consumers via surveys, workshops and other activities.
