Going to Hospital handbook
A booklet that supports the Dept of Health’s ‘Patient First’ publications
We are really happy to present to you a handbook to assist with going to, staying in and leaving hospital. Please feel welcome to download and share whether you are a service provider or patient or carer, friend or family member of someone about to go to hospital.
Designed for people for whom English is unfamiliar, pictures and symbols have been used to assist with understanding, the use of interpreters is supported and reinforced; there is a space at the back for a person’s language to be entered to assist with this.
Special thanks for their interest, support and input go to:
- Karen Lipio – WA Country Health Services Health Promotion Officer for CALD, and the Multicultural DHAC in Katanning
- Danielle Eaton, North Metropolitan Health Service
- Ljiljana Djordjevic and participating students, South Metropolitan TAFE, Adult Migrant English Program
